Mr. Williams is the managing partner of CL Williams and Companies, a real estate development company. Mr. Williams earned a State of Indiana Main Street Award for the historic preservation of his downtown Valparaiso office building. Mr. Williams has won three community improvement awards for his development at University Promenade, 212 Lincolnway, which houses Buffalo Wild Wings, and most recently in 2020 for the rooftop at Stack’s in Valparaiso. Mr. Williams was also instrumental in the renovation of the historic Indiana Dunes Pavilion.

In 1994, Mr. Williams co-founded Elegan Customwear. Under his leadership as president, the company grew into a multi-million-dollar corporation. Elegan’s consistent growth earned Mr. Williams both the 1999 Northwest Indiana and State of Indiana Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards. In 2000, Mr. Williams was awarded the United States Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Midwest Region by the U.S. Small Business Administration. In 2005, Williams was selected as one of IN Business Magazine’s “20 under 40” award. Mr. Williams sold Elegan in 2012.

Since 2012, Williams has managed CL Williams and Companies, which focuses on real estate leasing and development. CL Williams has been a driver in the development of over a thousand units of single-family, mixed-use, commercial, and multifamily products.

Mr. Williams has served on the Valparaiso City Council, the Valparaiso Redevelopment Commission, and the Board of Public Works and Safety.

Williams has served the Republican Party as a precinct committeeman, County Chair, District Chair, and as Treasurer of the Indiana Republican Party. He has also served as a national convention delegate and an elector at the Electoral College.

Mr. Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, with minors in biology and business, from Indiana University-Bloomington. Williams graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1993. Mr. Williams has also been involved in several local charities, including serving on the Boys & Girls Club Advisory board and as a board member of Opportunity Enterprises, and helped create a new not-for-profit called Home Team Valpo, which assists people in need in staying in their homes. From 2018 until 2025, Williams served on the Indiana Bond Bank Board of Directors and currently serves as a board member on The Valparaiso Economic Development Corporation.

Chuck and his wife Nicole reside in Valparaiso, IN with their four children, Jonathan, Reagan, Luke, and Evagrace.
