Governor Holcomb appoints John (Jeff) Whorley, Jr. to Ports of Indiana Commission; Monica Newhouse-Rodriguez also reappointed through 2025

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb has appointed John (Jeff) Whorley, Jr. (Zionsville) to the Ports of Indiana Commission. Whorley is the executive vice president of Fiserv enterprise, First Data Education (FDE). Additionally, Monica Newhouse-Rodriguez (Carmel) was reappointed to the Commission for a second term. Newhouse-Rodriguez is managing principal of Newhouse and Associates, a national airport consulting firm which provides airport planning, capital management and development services. Both will serve until Dec. 31, 2025.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 1, 2022) – Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb has appointed John (Jeff) Whorley, Jr. (Zionsville) to the Ports of Indiana Commission. Whorley is the executive vice president of Fiserv enterprise, First Data Education (FDE). Additionally, Monica Newhouse-Rodriguez (Carmel) was reappointed to the Commission for a second term. Newhouse-Rodriguez is managing principal of Newhouse and Associates, a national airport consulting firm which provides airport planning, capital management and development services. Both will serve until Dec. 31, 2025.

Whorley’s career has included serving as the executive vice president level in three Fortune 500 companies as well as leadership roles in start-up ventures and government and non-profit organizations. FDE provides student loan servicing technology for both federal and private student loans. As an executive vice president at Sallie Mae, he led Debt Management Operations (DMO) at the 4,000-person Indiana headquartered division. He was the first chair of the Board of Visitors for The Honors College at Middle Tennessee State University. Whorley also served on the Board of Trustees at his alma mater, University of The South (Sewanee) and has an MBA from University of Indianapolis. See Photo

Newhouse-Rodriguez has managed transportation and planning issues for the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Miami International Airport. She has previously worked with the Sacramento County Airport System, the Houston Airport System, Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport as well as the San Diego International Airport. She is on the Board of Directors of World Business Partners and Associates for Airports Council International–North America, the primary trade association for airports in the U.S. and Canada, and one of five worldwide regions. Newhouse-Rodriguez received her bachelor’s degree in aerospace from Middle Tennessee University and her MBA in information decision sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  See Photo

The Ports of Indiana Commission is a seven-member, bipartisan board appointed by the Governor for staggered four-year terms to approve the organization’s major projects, budgets and strategic objectives.
