Port Watch Program

The world experienced a renewed emphasis on security after September 11, 2001. This same focus has been applied to our seaports around the country. As members of the capable workforce at Indiana's port system, each of us has a responsibility to protect our jobs, our communities and the people around us.

Port Watch is a program established by the Ports of Indiana that empowers employees to become the "eyes and ears" of Indiana's port system. It is a partnership between the ports and its tenant companies. Members of the program pledge a special commitment to the ports, their coworkers and the community.

Everyone can play a part in providing safety and security for our country, our state and our communities. Port Watch draws upon the same core principles we value as Americans, Hoosiers and good neighbors. It involves remaining aware, alert and responsive to our environment. It calls for all of us to keep our eyes open and use good judgment to report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

Each participant receives a Port Watch identification card that not only recognizes them as a member, but also serves as a ready-reference that lists emergency contact numbers including a toll-free number to the Terrorist Incident Reporting Hotline at the National Response Center.

Please contact us if you would like more information about our Port Watch program.
