Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for Sanitary Forcemain Replacement, Contract 21603-C, at the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor, Porter County, Ind., will be received at the office of the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor, 6625 S. Boundary Road, Portage, Ind., 46368, from bidders until 2:30 p.m., Central Daylight Time on April 14, 2016, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the conference room of the port administration building.

The project scope of work includes replacement of approximately 2,300 LF of 4″ cast-iron forcemain with new PVC pipe at the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor.

Bids shall be submitted on the proper form and delivered in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidders as described in the Instructions to Bidders, which accompanies the Project Specifications. A Bidder’s Bond payable to the PORTS OF INDIANA must be enclosed with the bid. Said bond shall be in the minimum amount of five percent of the maximum bid.

The contract for this work shall be awarded or rejected as soon as possible but in no case later than 60 calendar days from the date of opening bids unless the 60th day shall fall on Saturday, Sunday or a legal holiday in which event said time shall be extended to the next working day. The Ports of Indiana reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Project Specifications will be available to contractors on and after March 29, 2016, at the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor. A charge of $25.00 will be made for Project Plans and Specifications in PDF format downloaded from the Ports of Indiana FTP site or by e-mail. Hard copies of the project Plans and Specifications are also available for $100.00 or in PDF format on a CD for $40.00. CHARGES ARE NONREFUNDABLE AND CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS ONLY WILL BE ACCEPTED MADE PAYABLE TO THE PORTS OF INDIANA.
