Port of Indiana-Mount Vernon is located in Mount Vernon, Ind., on the Ohio River, 15 miles west of Evansville, Ind. The port's roadways do not have weight limits and more than 50 trucking companies serve the Mount Vernon area.

  • Highway 62 is adjacent to port's entrance and runs east to west across the southern part of Indiana, connecting Illinois to Ohio.
  • I-64, 20 miles north of the port, provides an east-west route which runs from the port at Norfolk, Va., on the eastern seaboard to St. Louis on the Mississippi River where it meets I-70 for access to the West.
  • Highway 69 connects the port to I-64 via a north-south route.
  • Keck Bypass feeds into the port providing an easy bypass around the city of Mount Vernon and direct access to Highway 69 to the north en route to I-64.
  • Highway 41, just 20 miles east of the port, provides a north-south route from Florida to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, connecting Evansville with Chicago and I-70.
  • The I-69 Corridor, which is being constructed just 20 miles east of the port, will provide a direct interstate connection at Evansville to a key international trade route which stretches from Canada to Mexico.
