Land Categories
The three categories of land available at each of the three (3) Ports are described as follows:
Direct Land:
This land is reserved for maritime activity and is not for sale. Direct Land is located adjacent to or in
close proximity to the Port's terminal facilities and waterfront areas, and consequently is leased to our
maritime related activities.
Maritime Related Land:
This land is located adjacent to the Direct Land and has a potential impact to the maritime related industry,
although it is not necessary for Port operations. This land is not for sale and is leased to our maritime
related activities.
Secondary Maritime Land:
This land is located on the outer limits of the Port adjacent to Maritime Related Land and is not necessary
for Port operations. The Secondary Maritime Land shall not be sold unless there is a showing of significant
economic impact on the Port and surrounding community by way of: job creation, taxes and capital investment.
There should also be a potential for attracting additional business to the Port and surrounding community.
Users of the property can be required to guarantee a minimum use of the Port's maritime facilities and pay
a maintenance fee for use of Port infrastructure.
